Precautions for die casting
Nov 06, 2024
Precautions for die casting mainly include the following aspects:
Equipment inspection and preparation: Before each start-up, be sure to check whether all parts of the die casting machine are intact, whether the oil and gas circuits are unobstructed, and ensure that the control system functions normally and there are no abnormal alarms.
Material selection and pretreatment: Select appropriate alloy materials according to product design requirements to ensure that their chemical composition meets the standards. The material should be preheated to an appropriate temperature to prevent defects such as cold shut and shrinkage holes.
Mold installation and adjustment: Be careful when installing the mold to avoid damage from bumps. Adjust the mold gap to ensure the smoothness of the injection process.
Operator training: Operators must undergo professional training and be familiar with equipment operation and emergency treatment measures. Protective equipment must be worn during work to avoid accidents such as burns and mechanical injuries.
Process control: Strictly operate according to process parameters, such as injection speed, pressure, time, etc. Monitor the injection process to detect and resolve abnormal situations in a timely manner.
Product Inspection and Quality Control: Sampling inspection of each batch of products to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality. Analyze unqualified products, find out the reasons and take improvement measures.
Equipment Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean the equipment regularly to avoid dust accumulation and metal chips affecting equipment performance. Maintain the equipment according to the maintenance cycle, replace worn parts, and keep the equipment in good operating condition.
Defect Prevention and Treatment: Common defects of die castings include pores, shrinkage, stagnation, cold scars, hot cracks, and flow marks. These defects may be caused by insufficient mold or molten metal temperature, metal mixed with impurities, too few vents, too much lubricant, etc. Therefore, these factors need to be strictly controlled during the processing to reduce the occurrence of defects.
Safety Operating Procedures: Wear protective equipment and comply with safety regulations during operation. If you encounter problems that cannot be solved, report them to the technical department or superiors in a timely manner, and do not handle them without authorization.
